1st Meeting

Today we had a meeting with the nursing home to see how Lisa is doing. They said Lisa stays in her room more than she gets out. They ask her if she wants to do activities and the only one she seems to do is BINGO I think that's because she only knows that, and is some what afraid to do something different. We told the lady in charge of activies that she needed to be pushed and say that maybe she would like to do this and that. She was explaining everything they do and I know Lisa would love to do everything they talked about. This is her 14th day at McLean Co. time goes by so fast.

They said that she walked 75 ft today with the walker with assistance and that is the farthest she has gotten. She is doing good but it's slow going. It's taking more time than what they anticipated. During the meeting Lisa broke down and cried, it was so sad because she just couldn't stop, I think it was because she is trying so hard, she wants to get back to her apt. and get back to work I feel so bad for her and hope things get moving faster for her.

So today we took Lisa outside to have some lunch, Lisa, Parker and I had Pizza Hut while Karla, Joe, Sydney, Chase and Michele had Wendy's it was hot out but there was wind and it didn't feel as hot as it was because were in the shade so it was nice. I got a phone call from Rod he's a friend that comes every night and visits Lisa and he said that Lisa couldn't stop talking about going outside and having lunch she kept going on how nice it was that she really enjoyed going outside.

Leaving Lisa, there was a man in a wheel chair and he looked at me and had the biggest smile on his face he goes I know you, I go you do from where he goes West Side Clothing it turns out there is quite a few people that are customers of the store living at the home.

Walking out I ran in to a guy who when we first brought Lisa to the Nursing home I had a little emotional break down, I had just left Lisa and felt sad for her he reassured me that his mother has been there for a long time and thinks this is the best nursing home he has seen. So he said that on Sundays there is a wonderful Pastor who speaks and that he would take Lisa down to hear him. So he told me that last week he took her and at the end pastor asked if there was any request for one last song and Lisa with out hesitation said that she wanted to hear "How Great thou Art" and she said that that was my Dad's favorite song. I asked Dad and he said that was new to him but I thought it was so sweet. I know that was one of my Moms for sure. He told me that's his mothers favorite song also.

Happy Birthday to Little Ms. Sydney today..............................

Karla took pictures today and hope to get them posted as soon as we can.
