Lisa is doing pretty good. It is hard to believe that it will be a year this May that Lisa had her surgeries. For the most part, her brain surgery was a success. She has had no seizures since then. She is quite proud of that.
That is all she ever wanted. That is all we wanted.
We never thought that all of this would come with it. But, it is what it is and we can't go back. So much has happened since then. But the thing that I learned most is that Lisa needs us, her sisters. She always did...we just didn't know it.
I went to eat lunch with her the other day, in her apt. I told her that I was sorry I was not there a few days in a row and she looked at me and said in her typical Lisa way..."I don't HAVE to see you everyday Karla!" Ha! I asked her if she was over that and she said, "yes" LOL! There was a time, when I saw her everyday, helped her, and cared for her daily needs...but she's over that, and yep...so am I.
Joe and I went to see her yesterday, Joe was being ornery and unplugged her lift chair. She called Karen and told her that I broke it. I had no idea Joe unplugged it until we were long gone and Joe heard me repeat it. I called Lisa to tell her that it is just unplugged and that she needs to go ask someone nicely to plug it back in for her....before I got the words out CLICK! She hung up on me! So, this is all normal again...Life is normal, Lisa is herself again and Joe is still doing things that she doesn't appreciate.
It's all good!
Karla, that was a wonderful post~! Hey, sorry to hear about uncle Jerry. I couldn't believe it. Terri told me what happened, did they figure out what it was? Heart? Poor Priscilla. What will she do?
